Medium and Large items will ONLY be picked up on a Monday if previously scheduled. Small items may be placed out with your normal trash ONLY if they have a pre-paid bulk sticker, which can be purchased at Borough Hall between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:30 PM (please be advised that the office is closed from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM for lunch).

One (1) sticker is required for each bulk item. To dispose of an item that does not fit in the purple bag, you will need to purchase a $10 Bulk Item Sticker. Examples of bulk items include furniture, plastic-cased vacuum cleaners, rugs, entertainment centers, toilets.

The City of Peoria provides bulk trash service to residents that receive trash and recycle services from the Solid Waste Division. As a reminder, bulk trash is only collected "By Appointment." If you see a neighbor with a pile out, it is because your neighbor has an appointment. We ask that customers do not set piles out for collection until a confirmation number is received. Piles that are not scheduled for pick-up will not be collected.

Also, because of the influx of higher quality, more affordable beds, and because of regulatory and sanitation issues, standards have increased at charities and shelters when it comes to the suitability of mattresses for donation. Bringing in a sub-par mattress, beyond being rude, will generally be a waste of time for you and for the hardworking staff and volunteers at these organizations.

You may want to skip the larger organizations, and go straight to the local level. In general, larger organizations tend to have stricter policies against accepting mattresses, for both regulatory and storage-space reasons.
